Families Aging Successfully
Opportunities for critical conversations can come unexpectedly.
Often times the opening to have a critical conversation with your loved one is triggered by an event or experience they have. We prepare you to take advantage of the openings for conversations. I coach you to:

-
Respond effectively when an opportunity to have a conversation arises.
-
Listen to your loved one and addressing their desires and fears.
-
Skillfully communicate what you want and need.
-
Create an effective and responsive care team of medical professionals, caregivers, family and friends.
Family Meeting Facilitation:
Dealing with difficult people in your loved one's life is yet another layer of complexity for you, and sometimes those difficult people are family members.
Facilitation is helpful in addressing long-established communication patterns and focusing family members on what will be best for their loved one.
What I do:
-
Focus on gaining agreement on a plan of care.
-
Address conflict.
-
Gain family member consensus on important decisions and in sharing the caregiver load.
